Inside the daily window you choose, Presence uses Apple's Screen Time framework to see when your iPhone is in use. Every minute it isn't counts as unplugged time. Time outside your window, like when you're asleep, never counts.

Open Presence, tap the gear at the top of any tab, and look under Intention: Your day sets your waking hours, and Daily Intention sets your goal. Your ring and widgets update straight away.

Tap the widget, or open Presence → Settings → Set Up Widgets, then tap “Choose the apps to count first” and pick All Apps & Categories. Widgets update in steps of a few minutes of phone use, so very short checks may not appear.

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle, tap Edit, then Add Widget, search for Presence and pick a size. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold it, tap Customize, choose Lock Screen and tap the space under the clock. Presence → Settings → Set Up Widgets shows every widget.

The Today tab, the Ring widget and the Lock Screen widgets are free. Presence Plus adds Rhythm (focus sessions and Phone Time), Progress (your year, daily average and badges) and every Home Screen widget. Plus is $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, $3.99 a month, or $49.99 once for Lifetime.

The yearly plan starts with 7 days free if you haven't had a trial before. Two days before it ends, Presence sends a recap of your week. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription begins.

Days off are whole days, like a Sabbath, that Presence doesn't track or score. They don't count toward your stats, streaks or badges, and you get no notes on those days. Choose them during setup or in Settings → Intention → Days off.

The bar under your ring on Today. It shows your day so far: time away in green, phone time in grey, your longest stretch marked above it, and how many stretches you've had, their average length and your pickups. Screen Time reports activity by the hour, so the exact minute a piece starts is an estimate.

Open Presence and tap End Early, then confirm with Face ID or your device passcode. If you set a Presence passcode, Strong Guard or Approval Access, that step comes first. Calls and emergency features keep working during a session.

Open Settings in Presence and tap Your age. Your age stays on your iPhone.

Presence counts only inside your chosen window and measures the time between uses, so totals differ from Apple's Screen Time summary. Small differences can also come from iOS reporting activity with a short delay.

Yes. Apple processes Screen Time information on your iPhone in a private, sandboxed area. Presence can show totals and timelines, but it can't see which apps or websites you use, and nothing leaves your device.

Sign in with the same Apple Account, then open Presence → Settings → Restore Purchases. This restores subscriptions and the lifetime purchase.

Lifetime keeps Presence Plus unlocked for good. Apple doesn't let apps cancel subscriptions, so right after you buy Lifetime, Presence opens Apple's subscription page so you can turn off renewal in one tap. If you skip it, open Settings → Presence Plus and tap Manage Subscription. Your old plan simply ends at the close of the period you've paid for, with no further charge.

Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Presence Plus and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Turn off access in Presence → Settings → Screen Time Access, or in the Settings app under Screen Time. Deleting Presence removes everything it stored on your iPhone.
